Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy

The Sub-Junior National championship is organized with the aim of selecting the U-14 National team which competes at the Asian Championships. Alternatively, the National Championship are conducted at U15 and U16 level every year.Initially, the tournament was started in 1977 for boys U15 years. The tournament was constituted at the Darjeeling meeting of the AIFF on June 12 1976. The Karnataka Football Association donated the trophy in the memory of their former President.
From the 2009-10 season onwards, the championship would be sponsored by Coca Cola and would be rechristened as the Coca Cola MIH Trophy for a period of 3 years. This would also see a change in the format of the tournament where in there would be a four group qualifiers before 2 teams from each group qualifying for the National Finals. The host team and the defending champions would get a direct entry into the National finals.
32nd edition of Sub Junior National Football Championship was conducted in 2009 on a new format. Conduct and Format: All the State Football Associations have to conduct the Inter-School or Inter Club or Inter District Tournaments to select players for the state team. In case of big states, this may be restricted to one city. However, the boys from other districts may be included in the final selection, if found deserving. The Following format is proposed: Mode of Competition: - Teams will be divided into four groups, which will be held at four different venues decided by AIFF
